1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using SnapCalorie ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App. These terms apply to all users, including free and Premium subscribers.

2. Description of Service

SnapCalorie provides AI-powered food analysis. You take a photo of a meal; our system uses OpenAI's GPT-4 Vision to estimate calorie and nutritional content. The App is provided "as is" and "as available."

Important: Nutritional estimates are approximations generated by artificial intelligence. They are not certified nutritional data and should not be used as a substitute for professional dietary or medical advice.

3. User Accounts

SnapCalorie does not require user accounts. The App functions without registration. Subscription status is managed through your Apple ID and Apple's StoreKit framework.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

• Free users receive 2 meal scans per week at no cost
• Premium subscriptions are available monthly ($9.99/mo) or yearly ($49.99/yr)
• All billing is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not handle payment information directly
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your iPhone Settings under your Apple ID
• Refunds are governed by Apple's refund policy

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the App
• Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
• Attempt to overload or abuse the API endpoints that power the food analysis
• Use the App to provide medical or dietary advice to others without appropriate qualifications

6. Accuracy Disclaimer

AI-generated nutritional estimates may vary from actual nutritional content. Estimates depend on factors including visible portion size, cooking method, and ingredient visibility. SnapCalorie does not guarantee accuracy and is not liable for decisions made based on nutritional estimates provided by the App.

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, and content, is owned by SnapCalorie and protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App at our discretion, including for violations of these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SnapCalorie shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App or reliance on nutritional information provided.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will update the "Last updated" date above when changes are made.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes will be resolved through good-faith negotiation, and if unresolved, through binding arbitration.
