1. Information We Collect

SnapCalorie is designed with privacy as a default. We collect the minimum information necessary to provide the service.

• Meal photos — Temporarily transmitted to our AI analysis server and immediately discarded after analysis. Never stored, logged, or associated with any identity.
• Usage data — Anonymous, aggregate analytics (number of scans performed). No personal identifiers are attached.
• Purchase information — Handled entirely by Apple. We receive only a receipt confirmation. We never see your payment details.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to:

• Provide the AI food analysis service
• Verify Premium subscription status via Apple's receipt validation
• Improve the accuracy of our food recognition (using anonymous, aggregate data only)

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.

3. Data Storage

Nutrition results and scan history are stored locally on your device only, using Apple's secure storage APIs. We do not have access to this data and it is not backed up to our servers.

Subscription status is stored on your device and validated through Apple's StoreKit. When you delete the app, all local data is removed.

4. Third-Party Services

SnapCalorie uses the following third-party services:

• OpenAI (GPT-4 Vision) — Your meal photos are sent to OpenAI's API for analysis. Photos are not used for model training per OpenAI's API terms.
• Apple StoreKit — For subscription purchases and receipt validation. Governed by Apple's privacy policy.
• Vercel — Our backend infrastructure provider. Processes requests in-transit only.

5. Children's Privacy

SnapCalorie is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through our app, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

6. Data Retention

Since we do not store personal data on our servers, there is no retention period to disclose. Meal photos are discarded immediately after analysis. Anonymous usage metrics are retained in aggregate form indefinitely.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. Since we store no personal data, these requests are typically satisfied by simply deleting the app. For any specific requests, contact us.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
